"The most detailed official timeline of the shooting emerged on Friday, when Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw told journalists that the gunman entered Robb Elementary through a back door that a teacher had left propped open. Moments earlier, he said, the teacher had been using the door to get her cellphone.
But that version of events was clarified on Tuesday. The teacher's lawyer told the San Antonio Express-News that the teacher had kicked a rock away from the push-bar door and pulled it shut after recognizing the danger of the situation. She thought it would automatically lock — but it didn't, her lawyer said." https://www.npr.org/2022/06/01/1102355422/uvalde-shooting-teacher-door
The teacher allegedly claimed she "kicked" a rock away that was used to prop the door, the question i have ...
. "who propped the door open with a rock?"
Has anyone produced a map of the school where this door is? I ask because you can see on Google Street View that this school is of the "outdoor mall" type.
IDK if this type of campus has a technical name, but there are few if any interior hallways (perhaps just in the Administration area). All the classrooms have doors that open to the exterior with only covered walkways between them. I don't believe there is even a single covered walkway you could move along without being seen from outside the school grounds.
That is, there is literally no "school building" (there are a number) and thus there is not any door by which you "enter the school". Everyone seems to talk as if one exists.
Its just called an "outdoor campus." My middle school was this format.
Thank you!
I'm amazed that this is the first that I've heard about this school being an outdoor campus.
