Negative thoughts attract negative thoughts. If you yourself as a person have negative thoughts, you're going to attract negative entities, demons, who are going to try to feed off of you. Yes, the shell shocked vet is depressed because of demons, thats what they do. They take advantage of weak and broken people and manipulate them into having even more negative feelings to feed off of.
