Pretty much as title says, keeping up to date with current events as possible I cannot help but get 'end times' vibes. Or is it a load of scaremongering? What are your thoughts?

It definitely is.
The only thing preventing it from actually exploding into WWIII is:
Emphasis on the American Empire has not collapsed yet because a full blown WWIII scenario will require the collapsing (aka total, full frontal demolition) of the White House regime and the USA collapsing into Civil War before being united by a dictatorial government who WANTS to attack Russia and China. It's not a slow collapse of establishment trust like we see now, it's a full blown Xinhai Revolution or Stalin-esque scenario for America that is needed to even start WWIII.
As for the other reason, don't forget if Xi Jinping, Biden or Macron really goes to war for whatever reason, these leaders are so unpopular to the global populace, that if they start a World War nobody will support them. At least Roosevelt and Hitler managed to SCARE the people to go to war. Nixon, same thing. These people aren't charismatic enough to pull that off completely unchecked.
