While true. The reality is, it's the not the phone. It's the network it uses. Most phones cannot be properly turned off and they are communicating with external networks all the time.
Technically though, it's just a computer with a few extra radios and mics. So all technology is just as applicable. Do you own a mac??? A windows device? Any laptops?
What about your iPads.....tablets, television's which are smart....echos, Chromecast, Google home, nest, ring, smart cameras, security cameras......it's all hackable....it's all made in china....

Why do people still pay for mobile when there are many apps that enable worldwide free voice calls?
Yeah, I haven't carried a mobile phone in about 17 years.
