On this one I have to say it is just a JPEG artifact in the image - the black item is is the exact same size as the JPEG grid. The way image compression works is that in some cases the color of a majority area of pixels within a block becomes the block color. We can see in the image that the blocks are pretty coarse size so the black of space background became the whole block's color.

Very interesting point of view with the EM field manipulation, coupled with, what i personally believe, is that the US DOD has a working fusion reactor for years now, it might well be a military capability test. Imagine triggering a solar flare on the enemy territory... you'd fuck up all their electronics with no nuclear weapons, it would be a massive upper hand
