Sure. So what do they need a digital ID for? They already have all my data without it. I'm as free as I ever was. The issue is that my ID (driver's license) is a license to drive, and I don't much need it except for that and a couple other things. My ATM card is a different card, and the two are not linked together. What makes you think combining these two into one is a good idea?
The digital ID will be biometrically verified and attached to your Internet access. From there, everything you read, write, download and click on will be permenantly logged. You will no longer be able to express opinions outside approved narratives because of the fear that something you've done online will be used to ruin your life.
Yeah, that's paranoia. It's not like governments around the world spent years forcing people to show their IDs to enter restaurants. That's a conspiracy theory!
