While the meme has a good point, I try to put this in perspective.
Were your parents married?
Were they in good health?
Were you in good health as a child?
Did you live in a decent neighborhood as a child?
Are you white or east asian (Japan, China, Korea)?
If so, then you're better off then at least 50% of the populace when it comes to making a start of things. Throw a little hard work in there, some luck, maybe 4 years in the military maybe, and you're in the middle-class, better off than almost all of Africa, most of Asia, and every hood rat who isn't a successful rapper.
My dad, back in 1968, got a $5,000 kick-start for a small business from his dad. Not much, even accounting for inflation. He did very well until retirement.
