AIDS is a vaguely defined set of symptoms and is not a virus. There isn’t an “anti-AIDS” gene; they’re attributing a single nucleotide polymorphism in a gene to a “HIV won’t kill you” outcome. Jews are rife with defunct genes due to centuries of inbreeding, leading to autosomal recessive traits like this. And it’s always been a little weird how the entire genetic testing industry insists on using ashkenazi Jews as a baseline for analysis.
