I saw a video once that explained what was happening in terms of music. We are as humanity currently at C moving into C# frequency. Once we hit C#, these things can no longer affect us - like going beyond someone's hearing range. The world, in theory, splits in two. Those ready for the higher frequency go to one world. Those stuck at the old frequency go for another 12,000 (?) year cycle. The job for the elite was to make sure they don't let us go to C#, but I guess they failed, and we're already in the process.

As some have speculated, all of this might not be as malicious as it sounds at first.
