Same thing happened with turkey dinners last Thanksgiving. There was no shortage. They were just all purchased, rewrapped, and resold in time for the holiday. While the CDC released guidelines stating that washing turkeys was a health risk due to the water splattering the bacteria on the turkey. They stated the bacteria would be killed by the heat of cooking anyways. So if something sinister was happening, whatever they had on the turkey could survive high heats of prolonged baking. That isn't a super high temperature, but it is higher than what a snake is expected to survive in. Not sure how it interacts with their venom.
Jim Stone reported on the turkey dinners last Thanksgiving, as reference.
Chemicals will remain stable to higher temperatures than microorganisms can survive. Their proteins denature in roughly the same way that the meat tenderizes. We don't normally cook to tenderize poultry but rather keep it moist and barely cook it to temp.
