This makes sense because I know people who do hard labor jobs 5 days a week, they are anything but lazy or lacking in exercise, but still manage to get really fat. There is something in the environment that goes beyond just lack of exercise that is doing this. And my grandparents had refrigerators full of food and they weren't fat either. I’d add that American consumption of alcohol and the normalization of binge drinking contributes to that obesity.
Really fat peeps I know are not drinkers. The drinkers tend to be kinda skinny but with a bit of a belly, maybe because they don't eat much food.
