I’m guessing you’re referring to shelling injuries, not the text box on the cover.
Is it possible that shelling injuries would kill 3-4 people and leave their body parts intact while leaving no pools of blood? Yes. Is it likely? No.
I’ve never seen shelling injuries first hand, but I’ve done quite a bit of research on WWI. Plenty of entrenched soldiers were blown to bits, lost appendages, disemboweled by shelling, etc. It’s just hard to imagine shelling that kills people but leaves their bodies and blood intact.
This was supposed to be from shelling, stated on the front cover. Shelling doesn’t leave victims looking like this.
