I can only imagine the fagatronics that were going on, on bragg during the lockdowns. In the last 9 months I was there (2017) we had 3 dudes in my battalion try to ride the sewer slide. Considering that airborne units are significantly smaller than conventional units, that's not a negligible number. The only units with lower retention rates in the entire military were navy submarine units that didnt even allow reenlistment.
Being as the vax rollout only accounted for less than 6 of the 18 months, my money is on suicides. Plus they'll often withhold/obfuscate cause of death on military suicides. It can fuck with the family's benefits if it goes on paper, and (more importantly for the military) it's not a good look for the unit/command. Especially if there's an epidemic of suicides on the base: command staff loses their jobs (theoretically) over far less.
And they covered up the data too
