The phenomenon is caused by the Internet. Technology is stunting growth, stunting intelligence, stunting creavity. Sometimes they catch up developing later is the only argument.
But it's why China has made a huge push against it. Banning and limiting their hours online.
Covid has also caused it. Kids of young ages are so set back in reading, speaking, interacting with others. As a result. Kids of older ages became suicidal. Huge increase as a result.
In regards to this topic it has sucked away their creativity turning it into increasing consumption. But it's often any other activities are now costing far more. Without an Internet Transhumanism dies much quicker. Who is it advancing anyway? A computer or a human?
But regardless, its cause and affect have largely only been idiots cutting off their genitals and then trying to breed into computers. Sure they might fantasise about greater powers but what is thinking for them? Wait it must be the COVID. Quick the neural links, and it will create more clones. All because the monkeys needed to evolve. Where if we program the monkeys then we can hear them speak. And they can take us too Mars.
This is more about kids spending too much time on the internet and electronics, not poor teaching. I'm an elementary teacher in rural Indiana. I garden, homestead, etc. Kids today live on devices. This affects them more than anything. Like the article says kids today are less motivated, less creative, easily bored, and do not want to put forth any effort. Teachers are usually restricted from what they can do because of politicians telling teachers how to teach. If I was not forced to give standardized tests and teach a state curriculum, my students would be getting a completely different education. Are there bad teachers out there? Yes. But this issue is so much more than teachers... The biggest issue is politicians telling teachers what to do, followed by bad parenting and overuse of electronics. Covid has made electronic use worse because so many teachers were forced to teach remotely. Now every kids K-12 has a school owned device to use throughout the day.
