Also, the first sentence doesn't make sense with the rest of the article. You cannot have a sovereign state also be governed by a monarchy ('some realms have become republics'); thus it's incongruent to say that a monarchy is a republic or vice versa. It's one or the other.

As a Canadian citizen you can Travel through the British common wealth more freely but you still need passports etc. You can get a work visa easier etc but no, Canada is not a part of England any more than the US is still a British colony.
I have dual citizenship to Canada because my mom is from Canada. My grandparents migrated there from Scotland and England after WW2. Yea there is a strong cultural connection, lots of Scottish in BC, but there are lots of Hispanics in California and California was part of of Mexico for a while but that does not continue after they become separate nations.
As a Canadian citizen I can move to England much easier than NJ if I were only American, but it is actually only because I am a Candian citizen with a grandparent from England that would give me special privalege.of.moving back to England.
