so then the quote is likely fake or misquoted?
I suspect it is either fake or misquoted because I doubt he would have used the word AIDs in that context- would have said HIV

I didn't know he passed. Much like Kari Mullis, I wouldn't guess their passing as anything other than possible homicide.
