At this point, it seems to, at least for me that it's the complete and utter denial of reality, that the one and only future that would await me and the rest of this city is complete and utter oblivion over a cough, and no matter how many people were to speak up nobody will care.
There's no point holding any sort of hope anymore, alongside experience, empathy, logic and common sense. The only thing I believe in now is that everything burns bright for us and us alone and we deserved it for complying.
I don't hold any delusions that this IS the Grand finale, and at this point I might as well as yell into a blackhole. I can't even spend a second away from the blackhole, because I fear the moment I look away from it everything will end.
Just because it's not obvious today doesn't mean it's not possible tomorrow. Hope is not a hollow "think it and it will happen" idiom. It is a call to action inspired by the assurance that things can and will change. Don't underestimate the influence of a few well placed acts of courage. History is full of examples of every day people choosing to stand up to tyranny. They didn't always get to see the rest of their work, but we are grateful for them nonetheless.
Remember this has been tried in China.
It's called Taiping Kindgom.
Do you know what happens next?
The Empire of China was took down after a joint Colonialist beatdown, people really fought back, then it led to....
The Regime that led directly to the FUCKING CCP.
