I'm pretty sure there was a period of time where the hospitalization rate was almost equal to the death rate, towards the beginning when they were putting everyone who tested positive on ventilation preemptively and effectively rupturing their lungs.

I heard it was a 20% survival rate for people who were put on a ventilator.
