You need to understand more about what is actually happening. Mormons are literally fleeing blue states by the thousands to avoid lockdowns, schools grooming kids with LGBT/transgenderism, SJW madness, gun grabbing, etc.
Due to so many members leaving blue states, they are likely unloading properties because membership is contracting, not expanding. And since real estate prices are high, now is a good time to unload the properties to eager developers. The church will move the money into other assets, such as farms--it buys a lot of farms, even beating out evil Bill Gates recently:

I appreciate your belief and skepticism. I felt similar to this at points in my life. My belief is simple. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and the savior of mankind and that the words of his prophets are found in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon. I’m not looking to convince anyone of anything, but I invite you to find out for yourself if it is true or not.
