This isn't new at all. Onstar in GM vehicles has had the ability to shut your vehicle off at the request of law enforcement for nearly 2 decades now.

I saw a display for amazon alexa or google home. Wonder who is dumb enough to pay and buy this. Now we know.
As for cars. Guess can hack out the surveillance if cannot drive an old one.
OnStar contracts say they can record all conversations in your vehicle. Who's even is it at that point?
As I understand it, this was in the Build Back Better law, but since that wasn't passed, we get a reprieve for a time.
