It's worse than that. They are all terrible. You cannot find any search engine which is free from the biases.
You need to use operators to make duck duck go work properly for a lot of stuff, and even then the actual issues are a prevalence to backlinks on major publishers and the need to actually submit a lot of content if it is self hosted for crawling.
Information is getting scrubbed and there is little we can do about it. We need to redefine search and the entire experience of the internet. We have been programmed into the same gateways of information.
We rarely look at top sites, people don't curate content as much and all forums are centralized ....
A technique they have been using for about a decade to an extreme success is where they make popular terms which overwrite the original search terms. (Movies, and songs are a big way they do this, but even artists are being created with the names of events such that the original event gets hidden by the artist themselves)
Much is turned into commercial products so when you search for stuff, the algorithms will return completely manufactured content designed to overwrite that concept...
I’m glad you noticed this. Entirely true. They name new things after subject they don’t want information getting around on. Makes it difficult to find what you want.

This needs its own thread. I feel like this happens more than we realize. I remember seeing this discussed when the movie "Hancock" came out...people were saying it would dilute search results for "Graham Hancock". I thought it was a stretch at the time, but honestly I've seen similar curious "names" like this over the years. I noticed this again with a recent film release, but the name escapes me atm.
