Time is stored and processed as milliseconds since Jan 1 1970. Converting to calendar dates is for human convenience, but doesn't have this problem. There is plenty of time left before the limit is reached.
OP was right. This exact problem is in FIP-FS is the antimalware scanning solution Microsoft Exchange uses. The dumbest way to do it, but here it is.
