Evidence from ancient civilizations have depicted what some say are firsthand introductions to off-world life forms. These days in our highest tech world all we get are a few lights and a blur on a video of a "recon" mission. Perhaps they were once unafraid of us in the arrows and slings days but today things are different. Hollywood usually depicts a human victory over unfriendly aliens in the form of a nuclear or biological event (except Slim Whitman). In the Forties, two things happened, we used nuclear weapons to stop the last of our world wars amongst ourselves and Roswell. Was the cold war an actual sharing and distribution of technology to ensure a global nuclear defense against a recently confirmed potential off-world invader? Are test firings an ongoing warning to BTFO?

Again, assuming you know the technical capabilities of advances civilizations is hubris. Might as well be throwing spears at an F-15 dropping bombs from 5k feet.
Don't be retarded. Gotta get inside the ship and get a rock to connect with someones head. Guerilla tactics. Take some cues from the Vietcong, Comanche, and taliban. And even then, they weren't thousands of years behind.
Imagine a modern spec ops squad vs vikings. Thermals in the night, suppressors, bullets just hitting dudes with no sound at night Luke it's magic. It'd be like that if we fought them, probably even more of a discrepancy.
How is it hubris for me to spitball about technical ability of aliens we have not yet officially encountered but not for you? You’re assuming they have perfect Star Trek shields capable of stopping everything and have every advantage under the sun, I’m proposing that even if they do, we don’t have to assume they put every single advancement they have on every craft they produce and use. If they have reached post scarcity society levels to the point where even a child’s bicycle has impenetrable shields, anti aircraft guns, heated seat, autopilot and a nuclear reactor, why even bother with us at all? Simply having the means to do so doesn’t mean doing so. We have stealth coatings and designs but not on every plane. We have nuclear reactors but not on every ship. We have CBN protection for tanks but not on every armoured vehicle. Hell they make a $300000 Lamborghini without power seats. We could make everything 100 time better but we find reasons not to. I’m not going to assume a perfect species makes every craft perfect with every technically advanced thing they could want, perfect shields that block everything we could think of and haven’t thought of yet, because that’s just silly. You can be an advanced space faring civilization without mastering every aspect of warfare. It’s not a prerequisite.
