Why journalists are so retarded and ignorant?

Because they respond as order followers to suggested journal-ism aka a choice to choice contract of consent to suggested information; while ignoring perceived inspiration.

What you point out as a flaw of journalists (thereby causing a conflict of reason among the many; based on the suggestions of the few) represents a so called "pissed on breadcrumb" aka a litmus test for those with eyes to see and covering different levels of understanding.

In short...the few keep tabs on the understanding of the many by "hiding" stuff underneath the surface fodder; which in return temps those with eyes to see go down the suggested rabbit-holes.
