Reminds me of Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, a doctor in Texas who cured brain cancer with a supplement cocktail. The FDA shut him down, then patented his formulas out from under him.

It's been a few years since I saw the documentary, so my details might be a bit off, but that's the gist. Can't have people getting healthy or taking things the government/pharmaceutical companies can't make money off of.

In the initial script treatment Fauci was the bad guy, but got removed in the making of the film.
