"Mark my words, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them."
Modern preachers talk non stop politics. They are more than entitled to their opinion, but there has to be separation of church and state. I believe that was written somewhere important... Churches have enormous influence over their congregation. Some would argue that's the point. So why are pastors and preachers talking a word of politics at any point publicly? Separation is the only way forward as greed has took hold in the holy. One only needs to look into the eyes of Kenneth Copeland or Joel Olsteen and see the darkness. And it's spreading.

Lot's of respect for Barry Goldwater. Without him, we'd not have Reagan. But I disagree with that libertarian mindset. The left has set up a humanist godless counter-religion that is anti-religious.
As the Venerable Fulton Sheen said, “When politics ceases to be politics and begins to be a religion, when it claims supremacy over the soul of man, when it competes with religion on its own ground, then religion protests.”
