What is actually happening is that the algorithms can easily determine if a post resonates with conservatives or Trump supporters. This is done by analyzing how viral it goes among people who have shared content already known to have that property. The social network then goes on to suppress its reach.
They use excuses like misinformation and hate speech as a smokescreen for their manipulation of upcoming U.S. elections. The true goal, which I hope just about everyone here can see, is to make harder for Trump trump to make a comeback. Content that might motivate his base to turn out or otherwise allow them to politically mobilize is being marginalized.
