I don't believe this is actually the case. Happy to be proven wrong but it is my understanding that if someone buys an NFT, whilst they own it, they do not have the rights to it. Those rights stay with the creator unless the creator explicitly signs over the copyright to the buyer. Without those rights, the owner couldn't sue for copyright infringement.
Anyway, I don't think it's financially viable. Think about the rate that memes are created. If someone yanks a useful one, 100 more will spring up that do the same job. It's a never ending battle.
Current state- I think this is accurate. However, think long term. NFTs built on top of other NFTs as layers of abstraction. Someone could conceivably own something as fundamental as a certain pixel color….
TBF I’m thinking long term not necessarily current state. Though even so I’m not sure that I’d classify them as orthogonal. They’re moving together across time, correlated. Similar to ICANN .: it didn’t cause Google to dominate but it made it possible and it gained traction because of its utility in this task
They’re jealous of the meme arsenal
Jews hate Blockchain they can't just print a bunch of fake money
Variable “hash rates” -and- exchange listed trusts full of blockchains will enable manipulation similar to the way this occurs with PMs
This will be about as successful as stopping music pirating.
It’s the means by which they’ll establish ownership at scale without vs using arbitration on a case by case basis.
well, thats an interesting hmmmmmmmm....
once im done scratching my chin, ill prob still be hmmmmmm'ing.
How could that possibly work?

So case study: there’s been instances of people buying NFT videos and the video then being removed from YT.

We’re talking about where things are headed not where they are. For example, domain names before ICANN.

The next time you have a thought, don't.
