I think this is all about money and control. I believe its to late for most of the western world. We are on the road to collapse for the average person and the rich and politically connected will be fine. Give another year and I am predicting mass protests and riots will start occurring.

I'll predict that there will be ZERO opposition against this and when people start starving and dying, it's too late. It will take approximately a decade for anyone to wake up from the nightmare.
Whatever happens next will resemble the Pol Pot Regime of 1975, and the fallout will predictably be nearly identical on a worldwide scale.
(And if you do not understand what Pol Pot's fallout is, it's a big portion of the youth illiterate, a majority of survivors traumatized for life and infrastructure looked like it went backwards in time when compared to the likes of Singapore. The whole nation is basically inoperable without foreign aid once it's done for in a matter of 4 years -- just imagine this happening WORLDWIDE and not just a country.)
