It's the perfect greeting. You are telling them to have a good morning, they have no choice in the matter.
The worst is asking someone, how they are? That leaves you open to hear all kinds of crap that is wrong in their life. I don't have the patience for that in the morning.
Well, "have a good morning" makes more sense than "good morning" by itself. What would make even more sense is, "I wish you a good morning."
It's first thing in the morning and this guy expects to be greeted in full sentences.
Who does he think he is, The King of Siam, or something?
