Imagine you are an alien who wanders into both countries.
- Nazi Germany, you see:
- military on the street asking for papers
- secret police monitoring everyone
- picture of supreme leader hung up everywhere
- dissidents sent to labor camps
- USSR, you see:
- military on the street making sure you comply
- secret police monitoring everyone
- picture of supreme leader hung up everywhere
- dissidents sent to labor camps
Some people think Nazi Germany's system was far different than a communist country. On the things I care about it wasn't.
"It's war" is the PR cover story. Just like the "war on terror" is a reason to take away your rights, or the "war on drugs". Yeah governments use wars to do evil things. Now it is the "war on covid" that will fuck us over.
It's nice to think "since Hitler opposed my enemies he must be good" but that just isn't the case. Then it was a war against Jews, next they could be purging you for something that wasn't a crime before.
It wasn't a "war against jews". It was a war against communism which is undeniably jewish
If you fight the war by forming a government apparatus nearly identical to the enemy, did you really win? Reminds me of the war on terror. "They want to take our freedoms", "let's take away our freedom to fight those people who hate our freedom"
In Germany it was "Let's fight communism", "let's create slave labor camps, secret police, attack capitalism and destroy the free press!".
How did they attack capitalism or destroy the free press?
