leadership

It's called leader-ship; because a ship represents a vessel within motion; an allegory for form (life) within flow (inception towards death). We don't need suggested leaders; we are led and represent the choice based response to it.

independent

"free" will of choice (form) in response to the "dom"-iance of balance (flow) aka free-dom aka the balance of free/dominance.
