The way I look at it, living to fight another day is not what they want. Fight, but when it gets to the point you're just throwing your life into the garbage to please them, you've gone too far.
Regroup, recover, heal, then take the fight back to them again.
That's not how it was done at The Alamo. Leaving just gives them what they want. I refuse to comply. At the expense of my life if necessary.

Granted, the inclinations, skill set, and personality type of most people puts that beyond their reach. It is possible though.
