No its not forming a grid.
There are a whole bunch of earthquakes happening all in the same area, and that is shown graphically by placing the individual circles demarcating the location of the earthquakes next to each other instead of trying to fit them on top of each other.
If it was a real photo where you could see the actual locations they would be more jumbled up and overlapping, but due to the computer software it just places the red circles next to each other instead of on top of each other.
They may still be using some kind of technology to trigger the earthquakes at La Palma, but the effect you have seen in that picture is just a result of the computer rendering.
