I can't prove shit about this because at the time I thought it was some one just role-playing but I remember the night before the election seeing a greentext or whatever from 4chan from a group who claimed they had hacked in to the die bolt machines and had found a backdoor in the code that was left open for an update patch.
The text claimed that they changed the code to block all ports so that no one else could access or update the machine remotely after they disconnected.
I thought oh this is funny, great now we can hear all about these darknet hackers fudging the election tomorrow.
Well fast forward to vote night and trump actually wins. The democrats are all gobsmacked and confused thinking there was no possible way they lost etc.
Again I've got nothing to back it up now. But it really did seem like that post was correct and that patch not going through to change the vote tallies is why the democrats were in panic mode and blindsided by their loss.
Maybe the poster was full of shit, maybe not, but the behaviour afterwards, at least to me felt like it was the cause of their freak out.
Just to add it was only a few months or weeks later that the teenager was able to do the same thing at a hacking conference (Florida I think) and was able to hack in and change vote totals in under 15 minutes...
Dieboldt is also run/owned by people close with the Clinton's.
