The Allies stopped trying to assassinate Hitler. Hitler's own men kept trying to assassinate him.
Hitler sent his best general to Africa in futile quest, a battle that could never be won.
He lost over 1 million men in Stalingrad attempting to take over rubble with zero strategic importance instead of marching south to the oil fields he needed.
He let the huge allied army go at Dunkirk instead of winning. Some say because he didn't want war with the English people and wanted peace but...
He wasted hundreds of planes and thousands of men and huge stores oil bombing civilian targets over England. Why let the army go at Dunkirk then lose his air force bombing civilians at night?
Also wooden doors.
Why were any jews and half jews in high ranking positions in the nazi military?
Why did so many high ranking nazi officers go to serve in the UN and NATO and NASA?
Also, I saw it somewhere that a bunch of very influential WWII figures (at least Stalin and Hitler) all lived within a stones throw of each other in Vienna around the 20s.
Even though Europa is a great and insightful documentary and even though when you listen to Hitlers words and delivery he actually seems like the real good guy in all of this, I think they were probably all just actors - Hitler, Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt - trying to genocide Europe by feeding tens of millions into the threshing machine. They all did their bit to rile up their people to sacrifice themselves and to obliterate each other.
In this way, I think that France - far from being cowards - probably knew what was going down and made absolutely the correct decision.
I think Hitlers death was like Epstein’s death - a fake suicide. By which I mean that none of them actually died at all.
After Napoleon it should have been obvious that it's impossible to invade Russia from continental Europe, it's a massive open area with just forest and no signs of civilization, no resources. Armies waste their energy and supplies only to get killed once they actually reach the enemy.
The defender will always have the advantage. Just look at Finland who kept the red army out just by focusing on defense. Soviet had plans to invade Germany anyway so Hitler should have focused on defense rather than trying to conquer Russia, while also fighting most of Europe and the US.

Claims have been made that he survived in Montana of all places into advanced age

These are both great questions.
