Outlawing an entire industry because its workers politically protested is flat out a dictatorship. Since the government outlawed guns, it looks like this needs a United Nations intervention. Which will never happen. So the entire public needs to mass protest and shut down everything then remove the officials from office. And any government that refuses the united consent of its people is illegitimate and it's time for a revolution.
One way to go is an economic revolution against the government: starve the beast. Tough to do though because the government can control electronic deductions from wages, and freeze bank accounts.
What about mass protests and riots? Well, the government has arms and the people don't. Australia is now exactly like the government in any dystopian sci-fi movie. The Running Man made real. Let's see where that goes.
