I can’t use logic or deductive reasoning to understand why r/conspiracy continues to exist other than two reasons:
1.) r/conspiracy has much higher traffic than it’s 1.2 million users and that traffic doesn’t flow out of that one sub. Thus, it is a threat to “daily users” of the entire reddit platform and is a threat to their performance metrics if the sub is removed.
2.) it is used to track and monitor those who have an independent mind and are prone to rebellious (ie nonconformist) thought crimes. It is a hitlist of undesirables needed to eliminate, imprison, surveil, or control before any major police-state or foreign adversarial control of physical space.
And maybe a third reason?: to subvert conspiracy sleuths with bullshit like flat earth... and flood with bots and crazies detracting from actual conspiracies.
