8 Engineers at Columbia University in New York have created the smallest ever single-chip system that is a complete functioning electronic circuit. This could one day lead to implantable chips visible only in a microscope that can be injected into the body (www.futuretimeline.net) posted 3 years ago by gently_caress 3 years ago by gently_caress +8 / -0 5 comments share 5 comments share save hide report block hide replies
It is still 100 000 nm, way too big still to be injected into bloodstream without causing total havoc.
Subcutaneous fat injection or intramuscular injection might still work.
And Taiwan going from 5nm down to 2nm in silicon manufacturing won't help this to be miniaturized down to 100 to 1000 nm.
They will need a new substrate and a new manufacturing process. Probably graphene based.
