Planet Earth: A Question Of Expansion (1982) - Ever noticed how the "Eastern" coast of Earth's protocontinent "Pangea" fits perfectly into it's "Western" coast? Geology Professor Sam Warren Carey of Tasmania believed the Earth expanded in size, rather than the plates sliding around on a fixed mass. (youtu.be)

Pangea: notice the Eastern protrusion of Eurasia, and the corresponding western "female" intrusion into the coast line.

Prof Carey's book, "The Expanding Earth"

And a video with great animations of how the earth expanded:

From the comments on that video I found this site with this succinct explanation:

The Chthonian Theory states that the Earth started its existence 4.6 billion years ago as a gas giant. The fusion ignition of the Sun stripped away the Earth's outer shells and thus it became a chthonian planet. Approximately 180 million years ago started its rapid expansion as a result of force balance between the cracked rigid mantle and previously highly compressed interior. The expansion led to a creation of the oceanic lithosphere and Earth's primordial heat loss. It is a competing theory to the theory of plate tectonics and thus e.g. rejects a process of subduction.

I believe the great flood pushed the continental plates apart. This was done because the earth degraded into evil to quickly before Noah. God wanted earth to have a fighting chance.

The earth was made without speration because we were all supposed to get along.

Not sure why the down votes. There is so much supporting a great flood. Grand canyon, glasures in NY, evidence of Ice age that was actually due to the globe cooling because water reflects heat back into space.

This makes just sense to me. Explains some of the irregularities such as: what type of pressure caused basalt

If our universe is expanding in all directions, why wouldn't the earth and all it contains also be expanding?

If you all are familiar with Nassim Harriman, he has a pretty interesting take on the expanding earth. Since the

Also, within the hollow earth community, the general thought is that there is perpetually more emptiness being formed inside the earth. Hence expansion.

Also, if you shrink the earth by 60% all the land masses magically fit back together with no need for plate tectonics to explain things.

Not trying to prove anything, just think those views are fascinating
