So what you're saying is that the US government downplayed and discredited credible claims that covid was genetically modified and released by the Chinese in order for the US government to hide the fact that the Chinese have released a biological weapon for which covid is the cover to push the vaccine......sage.
Getting close. There could be many reasons why they downplayed the idea at various times. I don't believe that COVID-19 is the "cover story." For instance, the US government may have wanted to protect the identities of their intelligence assets in China by not revealing what they knew. It could also be the case that they wanted to get the public to behave in a particular way and the bioweapon angle made things more unpredictable.
