Fuel cells minimize sloshing with baffles and foam.
A380 fuel system
You'll note that the fuel tanks are not limited to the wings.
The video makes several erroneous assumptions in the first 5 minutes without even basic knowledge of the A380's construction. Comparing high efficiency fuel pumping systems to a fire hose filling a pull and calling bullshit smacks of laziness.
Damn I wish I had the time, interest and focus to make such bullshit videos all the time......
I am certain that there are mistakes in the very long list of assumption this person makes, but I don't know enough about aircraft design to point them out.
One clearly stupid thing is about the 90% vs 10%. Just take a helicopter for example, almost none of the thrust of the helicopter is done by the turbines. However it's obviously the turbine that moves the rotor which does the thrusting. Same shit for the civil aircrafts. Most of the energy from the combustion is transformed into mechanical energy that is then transfered to the front blades, which in turn propels the aircraft and compress the air going into the turbine.
Don't really want to dig more into this.
this partly explains how some companies were able to compete such low price strategy.
Thanks, was very interesting.
It's quite interesting, watched it the other day. But we probably should post this in a pilots forum to get an idea, if no significant amounts of fuel are spent in cruise then a pilot should be able to know this by his gauges/fuel reading.
Additionally any engineer should be able to verify if the wing structure can withstand the weight of the fuel.
On the other hand some flight tickets are way too cheap for the proposed fuel consumption. I used to think they were subsided for other reasons.
It doesn't have to. The wings are either flying (supported by the air) or supported by the wheels. In fact it's the wings that are supporting the rest of the aircraft.
Flights that are low cost are simply because of gov subsidies. Cities want tourists, that's why there are low costs flights.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
