As always, it's Biblical. 1/3 of the angels fall down to earth, that is 33%. In freemasonry 33 is the highest degree. Free=no cost, mason=stonework, the name freemason is a reference to the stone buildings pre-flood that was built by/with the help of the fallen angels, and digged out of the mud after the flood.
Things are not as they seem, so much of history is a lie. They use the number 33 to code their hoaxes.
