But on a related note, other kinds of businesses can be covers. I know of at least one Public Storage facility used, with manager's complicity, for drug deals and gang activity. Perfect for it since you need a gate code to enter, so no pesky cops around.
Omgggg! I’ve noticed the abundance of new car washes lately too!!!! My husband used to search for a damn car wash, now there’s like 50 in our city within a year! You’re on to something!
Maybe they are grasping, trying to find a way in this economy to gain revenue. There are too many burger franchises so maybe auto parts. Also, tax considerations may play a part since these generate deductable costs of doing business.
From what I read, dollar stores are the hot growth item due to population having reduced income.
The repair shops need to buy parts as well. They are front end distribution for local warehouses. If anything is amiss, it might be their business finance. But most businesses are corrupt to some degree now days. The fiat banking systems, and the tax codes pretty much make it impossible not to be.
Well Sears went out and created a vacuum. Target only caters to house wives and wal mart has low quality, common parts. Repair costs sky rocket. Supply and demand had a role to play here. Worth nothing the TJ Max (discount clothes) and the Dollar Tree are the other rapidly growing stores.
I worked for advanced auto. Stores like Auto zone supplies many of the name brand dealerships in my area and they have 1-2 hour delivery in almost every town in my state. You would be surprised by how horribly managed most dealerships are. Advanced auto tended to be in stock most of the time.
The real conspiracy here should be how advance auto can provide free 3 hour delivery but Amazon doesnt even when you pay for it.
If you find out, let me know. My husband frequents each one weekly. Lol. Seriously though, I’m pretty sure a lot of other shops order from them as well. I’m betting they sell to dealers and other repair shops more often than people like my husband every weekend.
There are a million of them though... Nappa, Auto Zone, O’Reily, Advanced... freaky... The next Mattress Firm mafia joint.
Go outside and just look at the number of vehicles out there on the roads. There are a lot of them out there, and I think there are more people than you realize who work on their own cars. Also, the cars you see parked out front are usually old.
If it's a franchise operation, money is made by allowing a lot of franchises to open, then draining each one with fees. The local franchisee gets shafted.
Generally not but your mileage may vary.

Most parts shops deliver. So when a repair shop needs a part within the hour, they get it.

No, but mattress stores are.
