The core of the building was were it was strong. The core is where the elevators are. The elevators were being massively “overhauled” just prior by a company called ACE Elevator that gave the cover for wiring. Remember the antenna falling in the roof first? That because they blew the core and it all fell down.
The building was pulverized by the implosion, watch the lateral projections of objects. 212,500yd3 of concrete turned to dust. About 26,500 concrete truck loads turned to dust.
They almost have DEWs now, but that was a total demo job.
