Nope. That person is an idiot. American freedom is also its ability to wage war. In doing other nations cannot.
Today American freedom is this Planet's ranking status at practically everything, and it is the Globe's leading economy.
War is therefore necessary in maintaining its dominance. In doing so it remains free because it largely creates this Planet's rules alongside various partners and allies.
Citizen freedom might not agree. Because of the constitution changing. It increasingly taxes and its citizens are bound by increasing laws perhaps away from their notions of constitutional liberty. It wasn't free then either, many were slaves, others were immigrants citizens and subjects, many purchased their freedom in the form of land deeds. Many also fought for it.
As far as war went, action caused reaction until it simply followed along the path that shaped it and the force it is.
That person is naively wrong about what happened in those wars and indeed why America fought entering them.
The most common theme with the USA declaring someone a dictator then invading that country seems to be if they threaten the almighty petrodollar. Want to trade oil in anything but dollars?! That sounds like dictator talk, buddy. Have some bombs.
Thats how the last few have gone, anyways
Not quite. But there is always resource distribution amounting to billions and billions of dollars in the aftermath of any war. There is also infrastructure and services and trade aswell.
The war wasn't about those resources persay. America still doesn't own them. But it might have been about their distribution. Although that is also partially naive. But not entirely an incorrect assessment. With the distribution of resources and later services also comes the prevention that the nation fought has lost their ability to attack them or their allies.
Saddam was a threat. A threat they created and then disposed of when he challenged them, and then directly sought to misalign.
First war was defending allies. Kuwait a distant allie, being a modern country, a port side nation once even handling some Iraqi distribution. Instead of imagining everybody else also challenged and contested any modern countries, what the globe would look like. It would be in war. They simply defeated his invading army.
The second war was because after being crushed they retaliated when acts of terrorism occurred. But largely because Saddam wasn't the forgiving sort. Sitting on billions worth of resources he was trying to procure weapons from competitors. Imagine he started a nuclear program. Don't, because he was removed first.
As for Syria it wasn't about resources. I know you can try to argue opposing propaganda. They aren't worth that explanation. Prevention perhaps the other side doesn't arm from them. Terrorists had been. But they aren't the reason for it. It is about a lot of different reasons many still unfolding in a war still happening.
Libya removed a threat committing terrorism and misalignment.
Afghanistan, yawn. Did you need an explanation or have I provided it.
What you forget is every single one of those nations paid the piper. They all were in some form or another created by America and its allies who seated and empowered and also armed them. Until their stupid little tinpot tyrants got other grandiose ideas. These ideas were often macheviallan and misaligned.
