Why would there be cameras pointing at the sky that would have been able to catch footage of the plane (or whatever you assume it was) flying into the pentagon.
Ok lets just use a different example...
Lets say someone gets carjacked... and the cops have no leads on the case so they go around and get all the closed circuit camera footage they can find that might have caught a glimpse of the carjacker.
After watching the footage of all the cameras, and finding nothing... they are supposed to do what? Host the footage from all the cameras with zero evidence on a website somewhere just to satisfy the suspicions of all the "aliens stole that car" theorists?
At the end of the day this was 20 years ago, there were no cameras that caught any footage worth a squirt of piss (because how cameras work), and therefore even after looking at all the "confiscated tapes", they found nothing.
You're focusing on "why would the cops take all the footage"... as if they were covering something up by taking it... they took it for the same exact reasons you're asking what happened to it... so they could view it looking for evidence.
If the footage gas station footage does not show the impact, we have to ask the question why is the Justice department still withholding it under national security laws?
because it's all part of the official investigation that is probably still sealed up thanks to patriot act bullshit.

so why would they give a fuck? it's all sitting in a box in a warehouse, and a folder on a server because nobody cares because there isn't anything on them.

These tapes have been requested to no avail through the FOIA. Keep in mind the plane hit the Pentagon perfectly at ground level, cameras are aimed at ground level, and a commercial airplane isn't small. You act like this is the only thing weird thing that happened that day. People don't think it was false flag simply based on the shit Pentagon footage, this is just one more piece that points to an internal coverup.
The police/FBI confiscated the tapes from establishments near the Pentagon. Why did they do that, and why were they never released?
