the "mysterious lung illness" was caused by THC vape carts that were made using a vitamin E oil for a liquidizer.
when you make carts, you need to thin the concentrate down so it can be vaped in the cart. to thick and it won't hit, too thin and it will run out and clog. people use all sorts of different things as liquidizers, right before the lung illness hit a company started making liquidizer out of vitamin E oil... they marketed it as "add health" "get your vitamins", etc...
what the fuckheads didn't realize was that oil, when vaporized and inhaled, causes lipidosis aka lipid pneumonia.
it's the same exact disease people used to get back in the day when it was thought that drinking a shot of mineral oil at night was good for "digestion".
what they didn't realize was the oil coats the mouth, then you breathe it into your lungs.
the oil coats the lungs with the oil and all the little white bloodcells that come in contact get saturated, and engorged. you can't pass the oil through the lungs and it's too heavy for you body to pull up... so it just keeps slipping back down and pooling in the lungs, clogging them, causing a huge decrease in oxygen uptake.
That's the "official" story. Have any evidence to back that up? Why is the "vaping illness" the only other disease that makes your lungs look like ground glass? Why did they come out and say cv2 isn't a respiratory virus like in event 201?

There's a conversation to be had about MCT oil or vitamin e added to carts but it's absolutely NOT necessary to "cut" with anything.

it was never "the official story" that THC carts caused this, the "official story was that it was from fucking jul pods and the "officials" were trying to use it as an excuse to ban nicotine vaping.
The entire hoax was completely fucking ghosted when some doctor out of nebraska or some shit found the engorged white blood cells in the lungs and got his patients to admit to smoking black market THC carts.
once that story broke mockingbird dropped the story and moved on to the next propaganda campaign.

i'v smoked carts, i've made carts, i've sold carts, and if what i'm saying isn't true why can i search "liquidizer" and it comes up with tons of THC vape cart related links.

you can't just "make it goopy" and throw it in a cart... if you start with something hard like shatter or diamonds or sugar... you have to hit the right viscosity otherwise it doesn't work in the carts. terps alone aren't enough to thin it out. if you just drop a lil terp and decarbed shatter or diamonds into a cart it would probably re-crystalize.
if you start with BHO or a super runny wax you could probably get away with it... but anything thicker than butter is going to need at least a 1:1 of something else... and unless you want to waste terps and blow out the flavors you'll need some liquidizer.

doing live resin now in small batches, whenever it comes around i just make a dozen or so.
last batch was birthday cake. lol
but when i do diamonds or shatter it still needs liquidizer to get it thin enough to run when hot.
i like mine a little thick, so they need a warming cycle before they run (so they don't leak). my fav cart box has a warming/pulse setting and it works great...
anyway i was talking in particular about the fake carts that were going around, the ones that actually did make people sick when they had vit E oil in them.
we never did anyone dirty like that, we actually tried to keep it real till the carts hit 20 then it just wasn't worth it anymore.
my favs were kingpens. they took longer than sealing a foil bag but the boxes looked way more legit.

If you do have live resin it seems like a complete waste to flavor it up and shove it in some dank carts.

plus i like vaping... it's convenient and clean and makes it easy to titrate a dose exctly where i want it.
i take whatever concentrates i can get ahold of through my peeps.
lately i've been getting live resin.
usually it's shatter or salt... sometimes butter... sometimes diamonds if i'm lucky.
and don't get me wrong, i'm fan of natural flavor from the resin... but i'm also a fan of terps... i like to add a little lemon most of the time no matter what i'm starting with, but i've got a ton of terps laying around.

I like vaping too. That's why I put shatter on coils made for it and I'm not smoking liquidizers.
I heard about people doing this a decade ago but it made sense cuz they already owned a vape store so it was easy/low cost to melt shatter into nic carts. The ubiquity of them now though makes it stupid.
My advice, dump the cells and fuck with vapes like my yocan. EBay, open a legitimate business with website, launder some capital.
or what you should probably do is get a better connect, invest 20 large or whatever into a liter of actual distillate, and do it the right way.

the vape illness happened before covid hit, it started right after that vitamin e oil liquidizer hit the market, and stopped as soon as that company shit itself, ghosted their website and vanished (they stopped selling it).
it's all over the threads on reddit from back then you can still find them i'm sure.
the lung illness was all kids who were scared to tell their parents and doctors that they were smoking shady weed carts... a lot of them did finally admit it after the real truth came out but until then, they went along with it being from vaping nicotine.
ok here's a quick history...
nicotene vape has been around for a while... but THC vape carts are rather new by comparison.
when THC carts got big, they first started in states where med and rec THC was legal. once they got popular there were people all over the country making "black market" carts by ordering knockoff packaging from china. essentially the same factories making the carts and packaging for the rec carts in cali and CO would sell them to anyone, 100 at a time, on alibaba and dhgate.
you could buy 100, 500, 1000, 10,000... whatever you want. mixed packs of the same brand.
when they first started there were king carts, exotics, cereal, mario's, danks, and later brass knuckles and cookies...
these were all readily sold online with any packaging you wanted printed with flavors and fake %ages...
you'd get flat pack boxes, sheets of stickers to seal the end product, and flats of empty ccell carts that you could fill with whatever you wanted.
when you're all done they looked like they came right off the shelf at a store.
day 1 they were selling for 40-50 bucks, then the market got flooded with them, mostly because of those two brothers from wisconsin that got busted, but anyway the price started to drop until it leveled out around 20 bucks a cart.
at that point, if you know what you're talking about you know there's no damn way you can fill a cart with concentrate for 20 bucks... you'd be losing money.
the price got so low because people were mixing in all sorts of whatever the fuck they wanted... some of them even had fentanyl in them.
then the liquid vitamin E started getting sold... and all hell broke loose. people started getting sick... not just the stories on the news... those kids must have been smoking a BUNCH of that shit to get serious side effects. we had bad carts circulate in our area around that time... you could taste it... it just tasted off. people were getting high but they were getting massive headaches and they got horrible coughs from it... coughing up all sorts of fluid.
it was like a dry cough... that wouldn't produce anything... until like cough number 15 when you got a whole mouth full of lung fluid and you could spit it out. (it was the oil).
everyone i know stopped buying carts when that shit hit because you couldn't trust any of them.
people in the know were warning everyone when the price dropped that low but nobody wanted to listen... they just figured less money is better than "getting ripped off".
luckily, the quality carts started replacing the cheap ones once people understood the difference between cost and quality.
i only smoke carts i make myself, or someone i trust does.... or carts i buy at the state rec store. now that rec is more common and people have all built supply networks they can trust... the cheap carts have mostly vanished.
besides these days it's so easy to go online and learn how to make them yourself... all you need is a hot plate, a syringe, some terps ("flavor") and some concentrate... depending on what level of viscosity you started with (the purity of the concentrate) you then need to add some form of liquidizer into them to get the viscosity right so it flows right in the tanks... otherwise you don't get a hit.
Information released which positively identifies coronavirus as the "vaping illness" we saw leading up to the official "outbreak". Funny how the cases are centered around a military base.
