FGM is akin to castration, circumcision is akin to some idiot getting piercings and other body modifications.
Both are stupid, but one is decidedly more stupid.
What's worse, is no female would voluntarily get FGM.
You say that but it's the Mom's who get the daughter the chop. The same Mom's who have the same thing.
I think it's something the western world doesn't get but point at and say its the devil?
Justifying chooping the boys dick off is also nuts no me.
Yes, female hypergamy is a problem, and women recognize it the most in themselves. But that adult women do it to underage girls unable to make an informed decision on the matter should tell you, it is akin to child abuse. Circumcision is sometimes done by adults to other adults. Find me a case where an adult female asks for FGM. Trannies maybe? But that's a different reason.
Lots of people abuse their children in other ways than mutilating their genitals too.
Circumcision in adults? That that's very rare often for medical reasons such as this issues with the foreskin tightens up I can't remember the term but I have read up on it it the past.
My point is we call other countries savages and demonize them for doing something that we do on a daily basis in America. Mutilate kids.
Will must call out the bullshit things we do in the west before we give a fuk about what others do. Imo
Soraya Miré, Somalian human rights activist, victim of FGM: "The thing that really shocked me when I came to America was the reaction I got when people find out what was happening in those parts of the world about female genital mutilation. And people were horrified, they were shocked, they were angered; it was not even a feminist stance, it was the rights of the child, taking her humanity and integrity.
But behind closed doors they were mutilating their own young boys, sons.
And it's an everyday ritual here, but people don’t see it as a ritual. But to me it's the same thing because mutilation is mutilation. What amazed me is once she showed me a tape of a young boy, who was just born having the surgery done, exactly the same way they tied us like a goat on a table. I think all of us need to protect young children's bodily integrity."
