Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders have been cannibals for ages. You could say it's been passed down in their genetics.
So if you are human, does eating other humans make you a super-human? I'm sure there's people that believe it.
Of course, the point of Jesus was to stop cannibalism and ritual sacrifice. Didn't completely nip it in the bud, but people still have free will. At least the masses have mostly been spared from it.
Oh, and that quote may have been about lions...and I found it.
"Jesus said, 'Blessed is the lion which the man eats, and the lion will become man; and cursed is the man whom the lion eats, and the lion will become man.'"
Organ transplant receivers spontaneously develope new traits and talents associated with their organ donor. Never painting before in their life, recieve a new liver and be compelled to paint beautiful pictures, then to find out the liver came from a dead painter. I think these ideas may be related.

Definitely a few short story plots revolve around that idea.
It has to have some effect though.

It does seem to me that people I know that are good "glow" more. People do give off light, perhaps in more than one way. :)
